Iowa Reading Conference

Women's Supper
Invited to be one of two guest authors at Faith Community Church in Red Oak, Iowa on November 21st, Rachel was able to communicate the way God has worked in her life. She told of her life experiences that have influenced her books and how God's hands were on her since the beginning. She ended with an encouraging word on allowing God to work in our lives.
Lewis Church of Christ Ladies Aid
Southwest Iowa Writers Guild
Rachel was presented as the guest speaker at the Southwest Iowa Writers Guild meeting on May 21st in Atlantic, Iowa. Honored with this opportunity, she spoke about her writing, books and what it is like to be a published author.

Ladies' Tea
On April 12th, Rachel was the main speaker at a Ladies' breakfast event at Central Church of Christ in Griswold, Iowa. She shared about her books and other writings, offering an encouraging message about wholesome readings and spending time in God's Word, the Bible.

Local Author Fair
The Council Bluffs Public Library hosted its annual Local Author Fair on November 17th. Rachel was happy to participate along with many other authors. She was able to display her books, converse with the other authors, and speak about her writing experience. Promotion began for her newest books, scheduled to be published early next year.
Library Event
On April 10th, the library in Anita, Iowa will host a luncheon event where Rachel will speak about being a writer. She will also tell about her books and give attendees the opportunity to purchase signed copies.
Speaking Engagement
On March 19th, Rachel spoke to a group of college students about her writing experience. She shared how God has worked through her to develop her skills and how He has led her to the opportunities she has had.
~ 2006 ~
Library and Lunch
Rachel was given the opportunity to speak at her local library in Griswold, Iowa during a luncheon. She was able to share about herself, writing experiences, and her books, A Test of Courage and At the Heart of Truth. After speaking, time was available to autograph and sell books. The library purchased Rachel's books to have available to the public, and have copies for sale as well. The event was later featured in the newspaper, telling of the successful Library and Lunch.Book Signing at Barnes & Noble
Barnes & Noble, at the Mall of the Bluffs in Council Bluffs, Iowa,
promoted Rachel and her books with a book signing event. Rachel was
able to sell out of their supply of At the Heart of Truth. She also
promoted and sold A Test of Courage. Barnes & Noble expressed
further interest in her books and is stocking both titles.
C.J.’s, a custard shop and Christian bookstore in Atlantic, Iowa, hosted a book signing for Rachel. Supported by locals, she had the opportunity to autograph and sell books for several hours. A short biography and information about At the Heart of Truth also appeared in the local newspaper to announce the event.
Local Author Fair
Rachel participated in a local author fair at the public library in Council Bluffs, Iowa. About 15 other authors were present, each given the opportunity to briefly share about themselves and their writings. Rachel was able to give a short presentation about being an author and was also successful in signing and selling books during the mingling time. Both of her novels A Test of Courage and At the Heart of Truth are now available at the library.
Book Signing at Local Shop
Rachel was able to promote A Test of Courage to the public as C.J.'s, a local custard shop and Christian bookstore in Atlantic, Iowa, hosted a several-hour book signing event for her. A newspaper article announced the event, and many people attended to purchase signed books.
